We are delighted to offer you another new and exciting class. Our talented Artist & Jewellery Designer Helen Chalmers will Introduce you to the basics of silver smithing. These basic skills are a very valuable addition to any jewellery makers repertoire. In the morning you will learn-
* Piercing and Hammering
*Annealing and hammering metal for texture
*Saw a Ring Shank
*Saw a couple of Charms
In the afternoon you will -
*Drill the charms for earrings
*Solder the ring shank, simple filing
*Pickle and polish

Level 2 Sunday 29th August

On this course, you will be taught to push yourself beyond the basics using the methods learned in Level 1. Chain making will take place in the morning, refining your hammering, piercing and soldering skills. The afternoon will see you setting a stone in a bezel, which we will measure, solder and set from scratch. We ask that you have attended Level 1, or have a previous experience of blowtorch soldering, sawing and hammering to take this class.

Dichroic Glass Fusing

We are thrilled to offer you these brand new courses in Dichroic Glass Fusing - but beware - its addictive!! During the class you will learn how to make beautiful pendants and cabochons. Dichroic Glass is known for its wonderful depth and beautiful colours. There are many types, for example, on black, on clear, etched, textured, patterned ...... and this class allows you the opportunity to see them all! You can explore combination's discover your preferences. You can experiment without the need to worry about the cost as everything is included. You'll spend the first part of the class learning how to score and break the glass, and then will practice on scrap glass. Then you'll go on to cut and design your dichroic pendant for a full fuse. As your work cools in the kiln you will sent to work on designing your "tack" fused piece. Our Instructor will show you lots of examples, some common pitfalls, and how to avoid them, as well as some wonderful combination's of glass. We promise you wont be disappointed. This class is suitable for complete beginners, and you will take home two finished pendants, as well as some cabochons! .
